Department of Accounting and FinanceIt starts in 2008 E.C and has been one of the demanded departments of the College. At Present the department offers regular and extension programs. It also offers tailor made short-term training courses to meet the changing needs of the local community. The current total student enrollment of the department reaches 137 and 15 students in the regular and extension programs, respectively. Up to date the department the has graduates of 100 and employed in government, non-governmental, private and self employed.About the ProgramThe reformed TVET-System is an outcome-based system. It utilizes the needs of the labour market and occupational requirements from the world of work as the benchmark and standard for TVET delivery. The requirements from the world of work are analyzed and documented – taking into account international benchmarking – as Occupational Standards (OS).In the reformed TVET-System, Curricula and Curriculum Development play an important role with regard to quality driven TVET-Delivery. Curricula help to facilitate the learning process in a way, that trainees acquire the set of occupational competences (skills, knowledge and attitude) required at the working place and defined in the Occupational Standards (OS). Responsibility for Curriculum Development will be given to the Regional TVET-Authorities and TVET-Providers. The modularized curriculum constitutes modules and courses carefully designed to transform the conventional academic incoherence approach to competence based teaching/learning approach behind the modularization.2.     Professional ProfileWith additional training and work experience, the graduates of the program can pursue careers and render professional services in the areas of accounting and finance in various forms of organizations ranging from private, governmental and non-profit entities. After successful compilation of the three years  program of accounting and finance, students will be able to be:-·       Make  clerical activities·       Work as a cost and managerial accountant·       Design and implement computerized and manual accounting systems·       Provide consultancy services·       Perform project evaluation and control.·       Prepare and control budget·       Manage financial resource and risk exposures of business firms ·       Prepare and communicate financial and non financial information
