Focused on tackling the pressing issue of illegal migration

From September 7–10, 2025, powerful awareness training took place at St. Mary’s College, spearheaded by the ECC-Dioceses of Adigrat in partnership with Wukro St. Mary’s Institution Social Development Program and Kilte-Awlaelo Woreda Social Affairs and Rehabilitation Office.

Focused on tackling the pressing issue of illegal migration, the event brought together 35 participants including war and drought affected youth and influential local leaders from the justice, police, and security, education, and youth sectors.

Through impactful presentations and dynamic group discussions, participants explored the harsh realities and misconceptions of irregular migration, legal pathways, and local opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.

Generously funded by the Ferster Foundation (Switzerland), the training was met with enthusiastic feedback, burning hope and informed decision making among youth and stakeholders alike.
