On 21 May 2026, the Year Two Q1 vocational and soft skill trainings under the Biqu’e Men’esey Programme officially commenced at St. Mary's College. The trainings cover Urban WaSH sector enterprises (51 on youth water system spare parts and sanitation materials retailers, 70 youth on detergent and soap production), Nutrition sector (280 youth on egg hub), and Social Protection sector enterprises (80 mother groups in embroidery& tailoring).


The opening &welcome remarks were delivered by the College Dean, Abba G/her Yewhans, followed by training orientation by the College Programme Coordinator, Mr. Efrem Gidey. Programme overview and implementation highlights were presented by the Programme Manager, Mr. Hagos Mekonnen. In parallel with the orientation session, trainee verification was conducted by the programme officers.
The training sessions will continue with PSA and safeguarding, trauma healing, vocational and soft skill training, and Business Development Services (BDS) training over the coming 15–21 day
